Spam is the pain in the neck of the internet, and with the acceleration of ‘posting’ sites and social networking spam has moved into the commenting arena. Back in the good old days you could slow this with “Are you a human?" checks such as Captcha but now ‘bots’ are so sophisticated that some even get though this. Most sites now use a variety of methods to weed out human content from that generated by spammers… wouldn’t it be nice to see how well they are doing, who knows broadcasting the fact you are using that technology may reduce the crap.

Limitations

Currently only displays the data from Spam Karma 2, Akismet and Bad Behaviour/Behavior.

Plug-in installation and activation

Install and enable
Unzip the plug-in into your wp-content/plugins directory. In your plug-ins admin panel you should enable the plug-in. Once enabled, there will be a “Spam monitor” widget available in the widgets listing.

Parameter explanation

Title
Change the title that appears on the menu.

Display when there is nothing to show
The widget is designed to only show something if there is data behind it. You can override this if you are proud of the fact you are tracking data.

Title
It can sometimes be embarrasing to not have anyone visit your site, and sometimes even spammers would then be welcome. This option fakes some numbers so you can at least look popular.
